Vegetarian Too Young
When my daughter chose to become a vegetarian at age 4 after I read her “Charlotte’s Web,” I thought it was a passing phase, much like needing to receive a confidential sprinkle of fairy dust on her way to school. Her pediatrician approved her nutritional plan without hesitation, and we have Hindu friends whose children have been vegetarian from birth, so the idea hardly seemed radical in our household, where we consumed a modest amount of meat to begin with.
